Phantom Blade Zero Reviews: Verified PC & PS5 Scores

Compare IGN's PC score of 9/10 and Game Informer's PS5 score of 9.5/10 with publication dates, performance caveats and limits on aggregate and user ratings.

Verified review scores by platform

As of our 2026-10-29 evidence check, IGN's Travis Northup awarded 9/10 in the October 26 PC review. Game Informer's Wesley LeBlanc awarded 9.5/10 in the October 27 review, whose reviewed platform is PlayStation 5. These are separate editorial judgments on named platforms, not a combined average. This page summarizes sourced reviews; it is not a first-hand review or an award issued by this site.

Read beyond the score: time and technical caveats

IGN describes a 50-hour first run to credits with a completionist approach, alongside persistent frame-rate trouble in one map and collision problems. That does not establish that the launch patch fixed those issues. AUTOMATON's October 28 review reports finishing after roughly 40 hours without defining a story-only benchmark. Game Informer notes checkpoints between boss phases. Platform, exploration habits and review conditions matter more than assuming identical experiences from similar scores.

Media scores, player ratings and age ratings are different

A current Metacritic aggregate and Steam player-review percentage are not included here because the platform, sample size and update time have not been verified. This does not mean those ratings are unavailable. Media verdicts, changing player feedback and age classifications answer different questions; none should be substituted for another. The publications and dates below identify the reviews discussed here. Check performance reports for your platform before buying.
