Start with the problem you want to solve
For more forgiving Parry and Perfect Dodge timing, look at the Support accessory Reflex Device: its unpolished bonus is 15%, not 25%. Need more room in your loadout? Check Boundless Capacity and category limits first. Want to improve an accessory you already own? Check Jewel and polishing below. Acquisition routes are folded away to limit spoilers; everyday effects and selection advice stay visible. This guide draws on published guides, not our own playtesting.

Equipment slots: two initially, up to six
Tenkiei’s Maxroll accessories guide (2026-10-29) says you begin with 2 accessory slots. Allocating Boundless Capacity · Lv. 1 ability nodes gradually adds up to 4 more, for a total of 6. Accessories fall into Offensive, Defensive and Support categories; you can equip at most 3 from any one category. Six total slots therefore does not mean six Support accessories. Check both limits before planning a loadout.
Polishing: finish Crimson Forest and meet Jewel
According to the same Maxroll guide, accessory enhancement is called polishing and unlocks after completing Crimson Forest and meeting Jewel. On a first playthrough, accessories can reach +1 or +2 depending on the item: this does not mean every accessory reaches +2. NG+ (Cycles) opens further polish levels. Read the individual item’s level entry rather than applying one item’s cap or bonus to everything.
Reflex Device: the bonus is a timing window
Reflex Device is a Support accessory. Maxroll’s item database lists the Parry and Perfect Dodge timing-window increase as 15% unpolished, 20% at +1 and 25% at +2. These are relative window increases, not success rates or fixed milliseconds; they do not guarantee a successful input. IGN’s Accessories table also says 15%, but does not label its polish level. Maxroll’s NG+ rows instead describe Maximum Sha-Chi: do not read those percentages as additional timing-window bonuses or infer a stacking formula from that table.

Maxroll’s map and Tenkiei’s early-strength guide describe this route: defeat the Hunt, then use his Phantom Edge to retrieve the Sha-Chi Tower Base Camp Gate key at the top of the Sha-Chi tower. Make sure you also have the Inspection Crank (called Sha-Chi Furnace Inspection Crank in the article). Go to the Creek Valley Plains Entrance bell, unlock the camp door and proceed to the elevator down to Crimson Manor, guarded by an exploding enemy. Take the passage to the right of the elevator. Continue to the Valley Sha-Chi Tower Base bell; use the crank on the nearby socket mechanism. The map calls it a pillar with a socket, while the article calls it opening the engine: that interaction reveals Reflex Device. It is not a direct Hunt drop. The later chest guarded by two Shadow Wardens contains Vessel Restorative, not Reflex Device. The exact standalone crank pickup point and any Reflex Device missability, cutoff or recovery rule remain unverified. Go to this page’s sources list to open the Maxroll Reflex Device map marker for orientation; we cannot promise it remains obtainable at every story stage.

Lingran’s Pendant: revisit the starting area · spoilers
Tenkiei’s Maxroll early-strength guide (2026-10-29) says to return after defeating the Hunt to the Beginning, the first bell in Weeping Creek Valley. Retrace the route to where Soul woke at the start, use the Hunt’s Phantom Edge to cross the gap, and open the chest for Lingran’s Pendant. This is a single-source route, not our own tested pickup. The excerpt used here does not establish its numerical effects; compare its in-game description with your build rather than treating this route as a ranking.
Ancient Armor Fragment: below the camp elevator · spoilers
Ancient Armor Fragment: below the camp elevator · spoilers
First follow steps 1/2 of the Reflex Device route: (1) defeat Hunt and use his Phantom Edge to retrieve the tower-top Sha-Chi Tower Base Camp Gate key; (2) open the camp door at Creek Valley Plains Entrance. The shared prerequisite is the tower-top key, not Inspection Crank; the cited Ancient Armor Fragment route does not require the crank. The same Tenkiei guide places Ancient Armor Fragment on the branch sharing the tower-top camp-key prerequisite. Enter the tower base through the camp and use the powderkeg enemy to clear the debris. Ride the elevator down toward Crimson Manor and activate the bell. Interact with the golden light on the left side of the room for Ancient Armor Fragment. You do not need to open the manor’s locked door for this pickup; the article tells you to ride back up afterward. Tenkiei describes it as defensive and particularly useful with health-restoration effects, without a numerical bonus in this excerpt. This route and assessment come from that one source.
Boulderguard: finish the steps before Crimson Forest · spoilers
Boulderguard: finish the steps before Crimson Forest · spoilers
Tenkiei’s early-strength guide gives a deadline: speak to the Petrified Mandate Disciple, defeat Peng Meng, the Axemaster, then return and speak to the disciple again. Progress to Axemaster’s Cell; from its Bell go left toward the stables, follow the path to the grave and inspect it to obtain Boulderguard. The source explicitly says to complete the post-Peng Meng conversation AND claim Boulderguard before completing Crimson Forest; afterward the disciple becomes a Maskwalker. Tenkiei describes damage reduction and advises weapon swapping to restore Sha-Chi when broken, but the excerpt gives no numerical reduction. We have not independently tested the cutoff or established a recovery method.
How to choose without a universal ranking
Match the choice to the obstacle: Reflex Device is worth considering when your concern is Parry or Perfect Dodge timing; check slot/category capacity before adding it, and polishing access before planning a higher-tier bonus. The three other routes above are options to investigate, not a complete accessory list. Tenkiei’s Maxroll selection article (2026-10-29) weighs general usefulness, how early an item is obtained and strength. His praise for Reflex Device is his subjective assessment, not our tested best-in-slot ranking. The tower route still has prerequisites, so “early” is not the same as available immediately on a new save.
Sources and what is still unknown
Checked 2026-11-02. Tenkiei’s Maxroll system, early-strength and selection articles display 2026-10-29; the linked Maxroll map and item database show no separate author or date in the captured entries. IGN’s table was updated 2026-10-30 UTC (2026-10-31 in GMT+8). Maxroll’s pages are one publisher, not independent confirmations of each other. The sources do not establish the test platform, patch or consistency across difficulties. We did not playtest these routes, verify every accessory, or establish the crank’s exact pickup point, Reflex Device cutoffs or NG+ stacking. English item and place names are retained where official localized names are unverified.
